KIM Soo-yong graduate Seoul National University College of Education, made his debut in 1958 with , and directed over hundred films over the years. Made many literary films such as The Seashore Village (1965), Mist  (1967), and Spring, Spring (1969), and worked with full energy until the mid-seventies. Retired in 1984 when his film, was subjected to censor ship, but returned in Scent of Love (2000) with .
