Master Class

This year’s Master Class offers a special opportunity to meet leading figures who have shaped the course of Asian genre cinema. The program welcomes YUEN Woo Ping, the legendary action choreographer and director who helped define the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema with works such as Drunken Master, for a conversation on the opening film Blades of the Guardians and his monumental career. It will also feature a screening of The Mage, the new film by Danny PANG, known for his distinctive approach to genre filmmaking, starring Hong Kong’s acclaimed actor Josie Ho, followed by a look into their cinematic worlds. In addition, the program will spotlight the singular filmography of MIIKE Takashi, often referred to as the “alchemist of genre cinema.”
