Synopsis
Leonide, princess of Sparta, sits on a throne usurped by her father which rightfully belongs to Agis. Leonide had spied Agis swimming in a lake and fallen deeply in love with him; she therefore schemes to conquer the young man's heart, marry him and give back what is due to him by right of birth. Agis has been brought up, secretly, in a villa protected by solid walls and is taught to hate the princess.
