Synopsis

< Sugar Town > is a dramatic comedy set in the sweetly seductive-and treacherous-rock ‘n’ roll world of Los Angeles. We meet a diverse array of characters whose live are all interweaved-a young singer who will stop at nothing to realize her ambitions, a band of ageing rock stars determined to recapture their erstwhile fame, a single female looking for new age romance, a married musician who falls prey to a Latino singer, and an actress whose rocker husband has an unexpected brush with paternity-all, in their various ways, are chasing success, money, sex and sometimes even love.

Alison Anders

Alison Anders has established herself as one of the few women directing film strong female characters. Anders is currently developing two projects < Things Behind the Sun > and < The House of Forgetting >, an adaptation of the Benjamin Alire Saenz novel.

Kurt Voss

Voss’s first film, Border Radio (1989), was co-written and co-directed with long time friend Alison Anders. Border Radio explored the dark world of the L.A. punk rock scene. Boss directed his latest feature, The Pass (1998), starring William Forsythe, James Le Gros and Elzabeth Pena, from his won script.
