  Tony KAYE

  English film director Tony Kaye has achieved recognition as an artist in diverse fields, including commercials, music videos, video art etc. He was praised by critics for his debut film, American History X (1998), which relentlessly criticizes racism in America. He has made films focusing on other social issues in America too, such as Lake of Fire (2006), which deals with abortion, and Detachment (2011), which highlights the collapse of the education system. Tony Kaye also showcased his talent through music videos for which he received 6 Grammy nominations including the music video for ‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’ sung by Johnny Cash, which went on to win a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video. This year at BIFAN as a juror for Bucheon Choice, Tony Kaye will meet filmmakers from home and abroad through a master class during the festival period

  Meenakshi SHEDDE

  Meenakshi Shedde is South Asia Delegate, Berlin Film Festival, pre-selecting films since 1998, and independent film curator, based in Mumbai, India. Winner of India’s National Film Award for Best Film Critic, she has been on the jury of 20 film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin and Venice. She has been international programmer/curator/ consultant to the Berlin, Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, Toronto, Locarno and many others. She has been Mentor on Script Labs and Film Critics' Labs worldwide. A journalist, she freelances for Variety, Screen International, Sight & Sound, Film Comment, Cahiers du Cinema and has written for/ edited 19 books.

  Jarod NEECE

  Jarod Neece is a former Partner, Film Programmer, and Event Producer for the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX. Over the past 20 years he helped guide the strategic direction and provided team leadership and was one of the festival's Senior Film Programmers with an emphasis on Feature Film and Genre Programming. He has been a juror or panelist at a number of events, including Cannes, Sundance, and TIFF. He is the co-author of bestselling books, Austin Breakfast Tacos and The Tacos of Texas published by UT Press and co-host & co-producer of the PBS & ITVS documentary series, The Tacos of Texas and United Tacos of America on Univision’s El Rey Network.

  MOON Jeong Hee

  She studied acting at the Korea National University of Arts, School of Drama. She made her debut in the play Blood Brothers in 1998. She has acted in plays, musicals, dramas, and movies, and became recognized with her outstanding acting skills. She has appeared in many films and won awards including Best Supporting Actress at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for Deranged (2012), Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Cinematography for Hide and Seek (2013), and Best Supporting Actress at the Buil Film Awards for Cart (2014). Recently, she has been active in genre dramas such as Vagabond, Search, and Times.

  JO Sung-hee

  Jo Sung-hee studied film directing at the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA). In 2008 he wrote 43-minute short film Don't Step Out of the House and won several awards including Third Prize at the Cannes’ Cinéfondation section. He made his feature debut with End of Animal (2010), and directed A Werewolf Boy (2012) and Phantom Detective (2016). His most recent movie Space Sweepers (2021), the first Korean sci-fi blockbuster set in space, launched on Netflix and reached the top of the Netflix worldwide movie chart.

  KIM Yoonmi

  Kim Yoon Mi has a wide array of experience of over 20 years in the film industry. After starting out at Megabox in 2000, she made her way through Korea’s largest film production and distribution companies, working for Showbox, Myung Film as Head of the Chinese Business Team, and CGV as Head of the Film Business Team. Kim dove into film production by launching her own production company, OAL, and has since produced the web series I eat darefore I am (2015) as well as films such as Insane (2016), OK! Madam (2020), and Diva (2020).

  CHO Youngjik

  Cho Youngjik graduated from the Film & Theatre department of Kyung Hee University. He continued studying Cinema at the Graduate School of Communication & Arts at Yonsei University and majored in Cinematography at The Korean Academy of Film Arts. He made his feature debut as a cinematographer with Dimmer (2007) and has also made dramas and documentaries. His filmography includes Pieta (2012), Gyeongju (2014) and The Call (2020), the drama 18 Again (2020), and the documentary Scenery. Believing that visualizing screenplays and texts is the attraction of cinematography, Cho Youngjik is planning to impart his own character as a cinematographer with The Jeong Family Farm (Working Title) to be produced by Yong Film.

  BAEK Seungkee

  Baek Seungkee has made diverse genre films using his own philosophy that ‘everyone can make films in their daily life’, and all of his films were have been screened at BIFAN from his debut film, Super Virgin (2012), which won Fujifilm Eterna Award at BIFAN, Super Origin (2016), which explores the origin of humankind, Super Margin (2019), a revenge drama about a second-hand product scam, to Super Nova (2020), a space Sci￾fi genre film, which won the Distribution Award at BIFAN. With these 4 feature films, Baek Seungkee has stepped into an area that is difficult for low-budget films to reach. With his own peculiar humor and ideas, he has been pioneering a new genre called the ‘C Movie’, which is a step beyond the B Movie.

  Kristin JI

  Studied English Language and Literature at Chung-Ang University, and received her MA degree with the thesis Cinema of Ang Lee as a Popular Auteur at the Graduate School of Arts of Chung-Ang University. Since she worked for Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2004, she served as a festival programmer in Chungmuro International Film Festival (2007-2008) and Seoul International Family Film Festival (2010-2011). She was a jury member of the Grand OFF World Independent Film Award(2014-2016) in Poland. She joined the Asiana International Short Film Festival as a programmer in 2013.

  JEONG Ga-young

  JEONG Ga-young has been creating her unique cinematic world while constantly assuming two roles, those of directing and acting. She made her feature debut with Bitch on the Beach (2016), and her sophomore feature Hit the Night (2017) won Director’s Award in the Vision section of the Busan International Film Festival, and was invited to screen at this year’s London Korean Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. She directed and acted in feature film Heart (2019) which had its world premiere at the 24th Busan Film Festival, and had theatrical release in Korea in 2020.

  KIMM Kijo

  Studied Visual Design at Seoul National University College of Fine Arts. While in school, he started to gain experience as a designer by establishing an independent record label, BGBG Records. He directed album cover artworks for the Korean bands ‘Broccoli You too', ‘Kiha & the Faces', and 'Se So Neon', and received attention for his non-standard and bold Korean typography. Currently, he runs his personal studio ‘Kijoside’ and is participating in various projects. As an art director, he worked on many KBS documentaries and continues to present an unconventional image as a familiar but unfamiliar visual experience. His documentary works are Long Live the World(2011), 88/18(2018) and Modern Korea series(2019-2021).

  Sidharth SRINIVASAN

  Sidharth Srinivasan is an award-winning Indian independent filmmaker. His debut short The Tightrope Walker (2000) was invited to Venice when he was 23 years old. The feature film Soul of Sand (2010) that he wrote, produced and directed premiered at Toronto, MoMA and Rotterdam and received the Hubert Bals Fund award. His most recent art-horror feature Kriya was co-produced by the cult genre video label Mondo Macabro and is due to release on a streaming platform. In-development are the psychological horror The Upside-Down Girl and The Profane.

  Boodee KEERTHISENA

  Award winning Sri Lankan director who has studied film in Manhattan, New York. As a young filmmaker, he has co-directed several documentaries, working with European directors and artists. His debut Veils of Maya won 31 awards, his unique cinematic productions. His features Buongiorno Italia (2004); Sri Lanka/Italy production, and Matha (2012); the final days of 30 year old civil war in the island, and Alone in a Valley (2016) have widened the horizons of Sri Lankan cinema. Rumassala a 10 episode sci-fi fantasy series 2019. Currently on pre-production of a sci-fi fantasy TV series Sandune. Past Vice President of Directors Guild of Sri Lanka.

  JEONG Minah

  Film critic and Professor of the Division of Theater & Film at SungKyul University in Korea. She is the academic director of the Korean Cinema Association, the committee of EBS International Documentary Film Festival and Women’s Right Film Festival in Seoul, and serves as a jury member of various film festivals including the Busan International Film Festival. She is the co-author of Bong Joon Ho Code (Medibooks, 2021) and The Korean Cinema Book (BFI, 2021), and the translator of Film Craft: Production Designer (Focal Press, 2012) and The Matrix of Visual Culture (Stanford University Press, 2003) as well as other works.
