Born in 1954, Filipino writer, director, and actor Jose Javier Reyes made his directorial feature debut in 1989 with Regal Shocker–The Movie. Since then, he directed numerous award-winning films including Kutob (2005) and Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (2006) which won the awards at Metro Manila Film Festival.
