Synopsis

Pusher is the story of Frank, a small-time drug dealer who is about to experience the worst week of his life. After a complicated heroin deal goes wrong and he loses both the money and the merchandise, he finds himself massively in debt. The squeeze is on and as the week passes the pressure mounts, with Frank trying to repay the money with his latent self-destructiveness.

Born in 1970, Denmark, Winding Refn made a feature debut Pusher (1996) which he directed and wrote at the age of 24. The film won him international critical acclaims. He won the Best Director Award at 2011 Cannes Film Festival with his film Drive (2011). The Neon Demon was again selected in the official competition in 2016 Cannes.
