Synopsis

Dennis has a meaningless job with no prospects in a drab, depressing office. Ignored by his co-workers, Dennis churns through another mind-numbing day. Then suddenly, strange things start to happen.

Sean McPhillips began his career at Miramax Films where he became Vice President of Acquisitions, attending festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Tokyo, and Fajr while working with the team during the time of Life is Beautiful, Amelie, City of God and Princess Mononoke. He personally acquired such diverse titles as Majid Majidi’s critically acclaimed Baran, Yuen Wo-Ping’s kung fu debut Drunken Tai Chi and sequels to the lucrative Pokemon franchise, ultimately becoming co-producer of the Japanese animation import Tokyo Pig.Sean then studied film at NYU and co-founded NY-based Secret Hideout Films. His short 35mm directorial debut, Cupcake, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and went on to screen around the world finally landing at the Lincoln Center Atrium with a live score by composer Lev “Ljova” Zhurbin. His follow-up, Deadline, premiered at Montreal, played Tribeca and won the audience award at Santa Monica. Currently, Sean is programmer of the Gold Coast International Film Festival in New York, the seasonal NY-based Furman Film Series, the NY-based Fire Island Pines Film Festival and is a film & TV reviewer for On Demand Weekly. In addition to completing this latest short, The Cubicle, Sean continues to write original material.
