Strange Homage

Stuck

Stuart GORDON

Canada / USA2007 85min 35mm Color Korean Premiere

Synopsis

Who said horror films are done and over? A simple "Well-done!" does not do Stuart GORDON's Stuck justice, the landmark piece by the 60's and '70s British horror film revivalist Amicus, celebrating its resurrection. Stuck portrays a 2-day-long nightmare of a hopeless, I've-got-nothing-to-lose character named Tom following his car accident. High on drugs, Brandi hits him while driving and in panic, keeps driving home with Tom still stuck in the windshield. She pleads to her boyfriend to take care of him, but things are heading for a totally unexpected turn. Stuck, with its speed, suspense and thrill, keeps audience from taking their eyes off from the screen, not even for a second. Maximizing a modest 5-million-dollar budget and a limited space, GORDON presents an exquisite combination of violence and dark humor. Note Stephen REA's superb performance. (KIM Jong Chul)
