Synopsis

Based on Nagai Go's original Mazinger series, Mazinger introduces characters that were made for the video game 'Super robot taisen' as the new generation Mazinger. The mechanics from the first original series and familiar characters such as Dr. Hell or Baron Ashura all reemerge in this film signalling the finale of the series. Nagai Go, no doubt, brings 'Kabuto Kouji' back into the piece as the main character and restores the original Mazinger line that had transformed into 'Great Mazinger' or 'Grandizer.' 'Nagai's world' is full of conflict and competition between the rational and the irrational. Not surprisingly, Mazinkaiser, as empire title suggests, is a tougher and stronger image of a machine of evil. On top of that, any rational rider comes with a by-product of irrational zeal. For example, while Mazinger (Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger) was an animation series fixed on the heroic Mazingers built for war, in Mazinkaiser the machines turn into characters of evil. It's because of this that you may see pilots of the machines subjecting to the evil madness of the machines which show signs of recklessness. The devilish design of the modernized Mazingers and the fast paced action scenes are the peak of the series. (HAN Tae Sik)
