Synopsis
The very name, Tom HOLLAND, who has returned to the horror genre 10 years after the release of Sinner will certainly fill horror movie fans with deep emotion. Starting as the screen writer of Psycho ¥± and gaining prominence over consecutive successes of Fright Night in 1985 and Child's Play in 1988, he was not up to his favorable evaluation of the 80s in the 90s. But, his fans who were crazy about his early films will jump with excitement at the very fact that HOLLAND who was disappearing into oblivion has helmed a horror movie again after a long pause. We All Scream for Ice Cream which is the debut episode of HOLLAND in Master of Horror describes an ice cream man as the source of horror. Lane is an ordinary man in his middle ages with a wife and two children. One day, his peaceful days become turbulent as his buddies are killed one by one. The victims all face a horrible death with their body melted down and, gripped by fear, Lane is reminded of his childhood memory at the howling sound of ice cream man Buster at night. Now he is back in the horrible memory that he wanted to forget and believed that he had forgotten. What happened then and What does Lane to do with Buster? The episode is about the childhood prank and its impact with William Forsythe shining in the movie as Buster who plays outright contract between the child lover of the past and the bloodthirsty killer of the present. He is well known to Korean fans as he played a psychopath or special agent in Out for Justice, The Rock and Devil's Reject, etc. As every one expects special effect in horror film, this episode shows an impressive special effect showing a man melting down just like ice cream. It may be fun to compare the analogue effects using miniature or slime in the middle of the movie and the digital CG effects in the latter part. (KIM Jong Chul)
