Synopsis
The hero of the movie is a would-be novelist Rob. Heart-broken after a series of rejections by publishing houses, he moves to an apartment complex teeming with to-be writers to concentrate more on writing. However, a young lady Valerie who appeared from the wall behind the stairs shakes Rob's determination. Valerie asks Rob to save her from the beast living in the wall, but, people do not listen to Rob. In isolation from other tenants, Rob sleeps with Valerie in a dream and makes a decision: to save her from the Beast. What is Valerie and can Rob be her prince charming? Clive BARKER famous for writing the all-time horror fans' favorite “Books of Blood” and directing Hellraise, Candyman, Illusion wrote the original story and Mick GARRIS who oversees the production of Master of Horror following in Season 1 adapted and directed it. As a plot born out of a novelist's idea, the camera reads down an unsuccessful manuscript from the opening credit screen, which indicates the source of fear weighing heavily on Rob. Rob plays out the tendency typical to novelists to stumble on the 1st letter after the 1st sentence and at the moment when the fear that his manuscript may not be a book forever and the arrogance that an author can be a creator in his or her own work goes beyond a limit, the barrier between reality and fiction crumbles down and “The Beauty & The Beast” break out of the manuscript paper into the real world. The hero Tyron Leitso mostly played in TV series and his feature appearance was in The House of the Dead, an adaptation from a popular PC game. Christopher LLOYD familiar as Doctor BROWN in Back to the Future series appeared as an eccentric writer living in the apartment house and the everlasting 'Candyman' Tony TODD made appearance as a surprising yet charismatic character. It ranks higher on eroticism than on violence with female nude and bed scenes. (KIM Jong Chul)
