Sweat

NA Hong-jin

Korea200712min HD b&w World Premiere

Synopsis

It is a movie about sweat. The director uses sweat as a link to capture several scenes of our daily life. Such a short explanation can tell many things about the film and The Sweat leaves quite a long lingering impression. Sweat flying around, dropping down and rising back in a monotone screen makes a beautiful visual to watch and the rhythm of traditional Korean musical instruments highlights the meaning of sweat which is the process and result of all our body movement in all the moments of our life. The director's ingenuity in integrating images and assigning rhythm to them has turned the film into a splendid cinematic poem. I mean it when I say, ‘Their sweath rolls and drops’. (KWON Yong Min)
