Synopsis

A long time ago, there lived a knight of light and a knight of darkness on earth. They continue to fight each other for a long time. The film starts with a cruel war between them. A man who acted as a peacemaker stops the war. They agree to a peace treaty. Afterwards, they keep the balance using a day witch and a night witch to keep watch over each other. The film suddenly moves to 1992. Anton gets mad at his wife's love affair and he tries to sell his soul to a devil. He finds his spiritual ability in the middle of the war between the night witch and the day witch. One day, he fights desperately with a vampire that is targeting a boy. The man treats the boy, who was severely hurt, and introduces a new partner to protect the boy. He goes to the house of the boy and he finds out a picture of the boy’s mother. He realizes that the boy is his wife's son, who was separated 12 years ago. Anton let the great man leave in order to stop the war. A great man can stop the war between the powers of light and darkness. Anton knows that mankind's fate depends on the great man's choice. Will Anton succeed in his mission? The film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov, who is called the Quentin Tarantino of Russia, using a new style of SF, which is the most popular genre in Russia. The original books in the trilogy are night watch, day watch, and dusk watch. The box office record has been replaced. The Lord of the Rings was made as a film 25 days after this film. The image cannot be unimaginable. The speedy editing and dynamic camera work are remarkable. It is a stylish fantasy action-thriller using a fusion style.

Timur Bekmambetov studied film and stage directing in Moscow Technical College. He received recognition for commercial film in 1989 then, he extended work to film. Afterward he directed his debut film in 1992, PESHAWAR WALTZ, He is loved by his refined directing technique from fans.
