Synopsis

A middle-aged foreign visitor to Bulgaria gets himself caught up in a pursuit of a gypsy child thief. When the two meet face ot face, the boy stabs the foreigner with his pocket knife while struggling to escape. The foreigner falls of the ground in pain, crying out for help. The boy, unable to leave the wound man, puts him in a baby carriage and roams about to find a place to rest. Unwanted circumstances force the two to together, but they gradrally form a heart-warming relationship. Though being a social outcast and mockery, the boy quickly learns to become an adult in a civilization where humanity has deteriorated. The young boy tries to save the dying man, but all hope may be lost as the man gasps for his last breath.(Na Ho-Won)

Ivalio SIMIDCHIEV

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, 1970. He graduated from National Academy of Theater and Film Arts. He made his first short film Somewhere in 1993. Mud was selected for the official competition programme of Festival de Cannes.
