The Man Who Couldn't Open Doors

Paul AREDN

UK1997 14min 35mm color

Synopsis

Here's man who couldn't open doors. The man who couldn't open doors stands outside door for quite a while. You may call this man a fool. You may call this man a coward. If you didn't close the doors, the man might not become a man who couldn't open doors. If yor didn't make doors, the man might not become a man who couldn't open doors. The man who couldn't open doors can or can't be a man who can't close doors or a man who can't make doors. The film is like an illustrated aphorism. Captured with surrealistic images that remind you of paintings made by Rene Magritted, The Man Who Couldn't Open Doors is orchestrated with eight scenes of strong graphic images. A surreal parable that draws us to what it is like to be different is the main idea behind the story. (Na Ho-Won)
