Synopsis
If another chance is given to a man who regrets all his life for a love he mistakenly broke, will he be happier? If he erases the mistake and begins all over again, will the result be better than now? This film starts with these questions and calmly portray how young men and women fall in love, are bored with, cheat on and part with each other, and regret what they did. Such episodes are found not only in London, the background of this film, but in any city on the globe. Spanish-born woman director Maria Ripoll shows off her talents in promptly grasping the sensitive feelings of the characters in this film, the first full-length movie she directed. The actors' ensemble invites the spectators to believe the fantastic story as reality and the refined harmony between the film's image and music is worth mentioning.
Particularly noteworthy is that this film is a co-production between Spanish producer, director and scenario writer and English-speaking actors and actresses and uses English all along. Her role may not be very big here but Penelope Cruz needs to be watched carefully. She previously appeared in "ÇϸùÇϸù" and "Open Your Eyes."
P.S.: Rafa Russo, the script writer, says the original title "Lluvia en Los Zapatos" means people who cannot move because their past is as heavy as rain-soaked shoes. (Kim Hong-Joon)
