Synopsis

A beautiful fantasy tale in which “water” is the motif. The story about two sisters and a lover who live at the bottom of the swamp starts to distort as time passes by.

Program Note

Clashing sisters living in a swamp lead to tragedy, but with a surprising conclusion. Part of a series on the four elements of the natural world, NUMANITE has ‘‘Water’’ as its motif. A collaboration with photographer Fujii Haruhi and musician Hashimoto Ichiko, it was invited to Filmfest München and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. (HONG Sanghyun)

Diretor

TEZKA Macoto

Born 1961, Tokyo. He began his film career since high school with 8mm film. Under the title as a visualist, he presents many visual media such as experimental films and documentaries. Also as a film director, his work Hakuchi: The Innocent (1999) won at the Venice International Film Festival. Other notable works includes Black Kiss (2015), Tezka’s Barbara (2019) and Anime Black Jack (2004), which awarded at Tokyo Anime Award 2006.
