Program Note
"Each country has its own traditional foods that are commonly eaten during Christmas. The United States has turkey, Germany has goose, and it is said that Czech Republic, with its large Catholic population, eats carp. This animation portrays people who have taken the place of sacrificial fish and fir trees, which were sacrificed every season, in another version of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). It is a work that makes us reflect on whether the traditions that everyone blindly follows are truly right. (Kristin JI)
