Synopsis

Seo Yi-wol, who has lived in a convent, does not want to be a nun. In order to escape from the convent, she decided to escape after receiving a prize in the contest. Then, her met Lee Jung-yeon, who wanted to leave the village like him. Their relationship deepened beyond friends. However, Seo Yi-wol felt inferior to Lee Jung-yeon and ended up fighting with her. Then the next day, she was found to have committed suicide. Can Seo Yi-wol achieve her goal and be happy?

Program Note

Yi-wol, living in a convent, aims to win a prize at a concours to study abroad and escape. She befriends Jung-yeon, who shares the desire to leave their village, and their bond deepens into something more. However, Yi-wol’s feelings of inadequacy lead to an argument, only for her to learn the next day that Jung-yeon has taken her own life. Kim Bora delivers a powerful portrayal of Yi-wol’s psychological journey, leaving a lasting impression. (SEO Eunyoung)

BAE Jun-won

Born in 1999 in Seoul, Bae Jun-won started directing at Korean Animation High School and is currently studying directing at Seoul Institute of the Arts. His short film Silence, directed as a student, was invited to the 2023 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and won the Best Film and Best Acting awards at the Korea University Film Festival.
