Synopsis

On the day Dong-geun is released from prison, Director Yoon of the financial investment company introduces him to meet the CEO of Butter Cream Bread Entertainment. Butter(CEO) tells Dong-geun that his artists are naive and easy to rip off, and that there is a small “culture and arts fund” that he can use for his benefit. Dong-geun accepts Butter's suggestion and meets ‘What's Up’, one of Butter’s new artists. As it turns out, Dong-geun is a bizarre musician who sang "Woman in the Rain" under the name of DG in the past. Dong-geun begins to have a heart for ‘What's Up’ and slowly regains the passion he had as DG in the past. Dong-geun finally decides to help 'What's Up'.

Program Note

In a world where the value of dreams is no longer questioned, is it still valid to pursue our dreams? Dong-geun, who has served time in prison for embezzlement, receives a proposal from Yoon, the director of the financial investment company, and the entertainment agency CEO, to embezzle money from a cultural arts fund. Once a cult musician known as DG, Dong-geun encounters a three-member co-ed group called “What’s Up”, and rediscovers his passion for music, even in the harsh reality with no promising future. The story of an artist who had given up on his dreams and adapted to reality, but discovers talented newcomers and embarks on a journey to achieve their dreams, may seem like a common tale. However, the most universal stories often have the strongest power!
The scenes where DG and What’s Up come together to sing and move people’s hearts through the common denominator of music are deeply moving. The fact that we can witness the performance of the actor and musician, Yang Dong-geun, in the song “The woman in the rain”, alone makes this work unmissable.(MO Eun-young)
