Synopsis

The country house, the only inheritance left by the grandfather, was bequeathed to the eldest grandson. The mother cannot just stand by and let it happen.

Program Note

After their father’s death, middle-aged sisters plan to inherit their countryside house. However, unexpected appearances by a sister-in-law and nephew complicate matters. The ensuing disputes provide a captivating drama of a dysfunctional family, skillfully holding the audience’s attention until the end. The strategic episodes and well-developed characters contribute to the overall effectiveness of the story. It was invited to the La Cinéf in 2023 Cannes Film Festival. (PARK Got)

Diretor

SEO Jeong-mi

Born in 1995. She studied Korean history before switching her major to film studies. Her short films include So-Young's Film (2019), The Granddaughter (2021), and The Lee Families, the latter two dealing with Korean funeral customs. She is currently a television writer and is working on her screenplay for a feature film.
