Wanting to regain public attention, Oh Tae-kyung opens a channel called “Little Oh Dae-soo”, where he promises to do anything subscribers ask. A subscriber named Buldok suggests that if Oh Tae-kyung reveals the story of a person who comes to Cheonggyecheon Plaza every day, silently protesting with a picket sign, he will give him 20 million won. Oh Tae-kyung immediately takes action, and as each story is revealed, his number of subscribers increases exponentially. Director Park Sang-min, who directed the I Haven’t Done Anything, is also known as the co scriptwriter of the horror film Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (2018). Here he adopts a real-time narrative format for his debut feature film. Similar to the film Searching (2018), the screen alternates between computer screens, live channels, and camera monitors. Since the audience’s perspective is limited to the windows of various devices, it is not easy to determine whether what is happening is true or a “hoax”. Taking this into account, director Park Sang-min intensifies the audience immersion by incorporating successive twists and turns into the story. (HUH Namwoong)
