Synopsis

Ben, a soon-to-be father, attempts to build a crib for his child in the midst of a historic heatwave. As the weather worsens, he is plagued by horrific visions of the world his child will inherit. Hallucination and reality collide when Ben discovers a cancerous portal festering in the depths of his home. He is faced with a decision – embrace the encroaching darkness or choose to believe in a better future.

Program Note

There are many people around the world who are contemplating childbirth due to various reasons such as economic power, climate disasters, and war. In this couple expecting a child, while the wife eagerly anticipates the birth, the husband is anxious about the uncertain future. The suffocating heat, buzzing flies around, and dissonant sounds of wood heighten the tension. However, ultimately, the choice is one’s own, and the director says that someone will dream of a better world and not lose hope. (Kristin JI)
