Synopsis

Upon arriving home after an earthquake, a teenager finds his mother’s dead body lying under the dining room’s ceiling lamp. Distraught about an uncertain future, he decides to carry out a strange plan with the help of his best friend.

Program Note

Natural disasters can strike us at any moment, without warning. After returning home from a sudden earthquake, I found my mother had passed away, and the teenage boy hesitates to report it to the police. The momentary realization of how his situation would be affected by his mother’s absence crosses his mind. In this age where we are adept at accessing information on the internet and possess strong individualistic tendencies, such a surprising turn of events may not be as astonishing as it seems. After all, it is ultimately up to oneself to carve out their own future. (Kristin JI)
