Program Note

Marcos is a veteran nurse in the night shift emergency room where he is promoted to head nurse. However, he has a secret. He performs euthanasia on patients who live their lives in pain. As a new nurse, young Gabriel becomes close to Marcos. His secret is gradually crushing Marcos, and he begins to investigate Gabriel.

The emergency room, captured by the camera through its blue filter, it appears to the audience itself as a space of fear. Martin Kraut's debut film, The Dose, builds suspense by capturing the familiar character of a psychopath nurse in the three-dimensional relationship between Marcos and Gabriel. The uncanny sexual tension between the two men creates another psychological tension in the film. (Jin PARK)
