Synopsis

I (JOO Jin-Mo) draw portraits at University St. and think back to the painful memories inside of me through 'another I' performing on stage. Those memories draw rage and intent to murder from my mind and I kill people-everyone Ive wanted to kill- by numbers. Those who have felt an urge to kill once or twice, lining up in front of a public phone booth, and those who have committed murder in their minds, join me killing in the mind. When I finally come to the studio and fold up the exhausting day, the curtain drops, the lights turn off and I come back to University St. to draw portraits again. But, can I be secure forever, or at least for the time being? Eight 35mm cameras, ten digital cameras, two steady-cams that track the main actor. The cinematographer, the recording team and the lighting team filmed in turns. 11 sequence directors made this one-cut filming possible. The total filming took 3 hours and 20 minutes. This is 'Real Fiction' as only Director KIM Ki-Duk could make with all those seemingly impossible situations. Although it is his first experimental try, a question still remains: If it's the artist's ability to make an improbable imagination into reality, isn't the social effect of this try the artist's responsibility?(PARK Sung-Kyung)
