Synopsis

Husband and wife are talking under the stairway of a lordly mansion. Desolation is in the air. Excutive director KANG (CHOI Moo-Ryong)finds a lobbyist to approach BAE Sung-Wan(SHIN Sung-Il), a young businessman and his rival. The beautiful lobbyist is his own wife KO Eun-Mi, a woman who easily falls in love and is hardly logical or rational. Although sh was ready for any sacrifice as a lobbyist for her husband, she is attracted by Sung-Wan's tenderness.Sung-Wan has an old life partner,Ms.YOON, who vlaues independence and freedom in life. Flamesand passionate guitar sounds accompany their lovemarketing. When Sung-Wan makes love with Eun-Mi, the flames appear as well. But the music during their sex gives a totally opposite feeling. YOON, this independent and energetic woman, aspires to have a family with Sung-wan. She is heartbroken when she finds out about Sung-Wan and Eun-Mi's relationship." Now, I've lost you. I've something to show you." She shows a traditional suit that she made for him and has been trasuring. She moves the audience more than good-girl Eun-Mi does by ehr extremely feminine and sentimental attitude. YOON feels the uselessness of material success and stabs Sung-Wan and herself. While dying, Sung-Wan desperately seeks Eun-mi ,but after finding her, they both die in a car accident..KANG disappears holding his wife's cat, stating," Those who follow destiny let it flow to the lake, while those who disobey,lead it."(KIM Kyung-Mi)

One of the most prolific directors in Korea, he directed over 100 films in his lifetime. His directorial debut film is The Lost Sun (1964) and directed his best-known film The Land of Snow (1977), Subzero Point ’81 (1981).
