Synopsis

Arthur is trying to stop is house from being knocked down when he is suddenly transported to outer space by his friend Ford Prefect, moments before earth's destruction. The two embark on a wacky adventure through the galaxy, seeking the meaning of life and experiencing the weird and wonderful along the way.

Program Note

The earth is scheduled for destruction by Vogons to make way for a new hyperspace bypass. Englishman Arthur Dent is rescued by his strange friend Ford Prefect just before this happens, hence becomes a space hitchhiker on a long and bizarre journey, accompanied by Trillian with whom he had almost had a ing once at a party on earth, and a depressed robot, Marvin.
