Synopsis

Following a ghost invasion of manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.

Program Note

This lm is a reboot of Ghostbusters series as a female version coming out under Fourth-wave feminism which began around 2014. The combination of the director, Paul Feig who likes to work with ‘hilarious women’ and Melissa Ann McCarthy and Kate McKinnon who are recently leading the female comedy boom in the US bring us the best result. It gives, more than anything, great entertainment as a ‘mirroring’ lm twisting the representation of gender. (Jay SOHN)
