Synopsis

An irresponsible, drug-addicted, recently impregnated woman finds herself in the middle of an abortion debate when both parties attempt to sway her to their respective sides.

Program Note

A drug addict, Ruth living recklessly is pregnant again. The court urges her to abort the baby because she might not be able to play her role as a mother properly. Surrounding her, the battle between pro-life and pro-choice occurrs. It is a cool black comedy which is Payne’s masterpiece showing how a woman’s body can be battle eld. Above all things, the last scene deserves to be written in lm history. (Jay SOHN)
