Program Note

Based on the comics of the same name by Bae Geum-taek, Young-Shim explores adolescent girls’ issues, with an older lead character and incorporating various elements of popular culture of the time. The distinctive, mainly green color used, rhythmical editing and a rened taste for popular culture are noteworthy. Lee Mirye is the fourth female Korean lm director. (MO Eun-young)
