Synopsis

Hibiki is a sensitive 15-year-old girl with a talent for writing. She sends a manuscript for her novel to a magazine but it is ultimately rejected. However, an editor happens to find Hibiki’s work in the garbage can and takes an interest in the novel.

Program Note

Everyone thinks the days of literature is gone now, but a commotion arises as a high-school girl named Hibiki, with overwhelming writing skills, appears. With unique thoughts, sensibility, and acting power, Hibiki shocks everyone in the literary world. The cartoon Hibiki uses the decline in literacy as its subject, and now it has been created into a film. (KIM Bong-seok)

TSUKIKAWA Sho

Born in in 1982, in Tokyo, Tsukikawa Sho graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. After making his director debut film, Kikkake wa You! (2011), he won the 2012 Short Film Festival & Asia with Good Coming Toru to Neko tamani Neko (2012). The movie Let Me Eat Your Pancreas (2017) is a huge hit, and many people look forward to his upcoming work.
