Synopsis

Mabel and Rosenthal are both hired for their looks. They meet on the set of a horror movie in this surreal examination of how those with physical differences are portrayed on film.

Program Note

A frank commentary on disability by Aaron Schimberg is set on a film within a film and subtly tackles both the treatment of deformity and beauty-obsessed Hollywood with two contrasting backgrounds and images. Such elements are provided in striking manners by two leading performers, Adam Pearson as deformed actor Rosenthal and Jess Weixler as an attractive blonde Mabel. (Jongsuk Thomas NAM)
