Synopsis

A rich beautician distracts herself from an affair with a married man by befriending her reclusive cleaner who is facially scarred from a traumatic childhood incident. Soon, the beautician discovers that her employee’s scars run much deeper than she imagined.

Program Note

A disturbing tale of obsessions originating from a highly unlikely friendship, this slow-burning film by Jon Knautz will ultimately reward patient audiences with a quite horric story. Impressive performances by Alexis Kendra (who also cowrote the screenplay) as Alice and Rachel Alig as deranged Shelly bring to life complex characters battling demons of each’s own.
