Synopsis

A hip-hop drama, taken out of the city and into the historic rural lands of the Hokianga in New Zealand, Rising Dust follows a youngster on the brink of adulthood who calls on his ancestors to help him stand up to his father.

Jack WOON

Jack Woon is a Kiwi-Malaysian independent filmmaker who wrote, produced and directed a feature-length musical, Be Sharp See Flat(2006) while completing and Engineering and Arts degree. He went on to direct, produce and edit several short films including Empty Swan Song(2010), The Great Barrier(2011), which was nominated and awarded in many film festivals. He is now working as a freelance television editor with TVNZ and NHNZ.
