Rivki Morais Umagapi was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. He got film training at the Indonesia Education Student Film Festival from 2006 to 2007. He worked as an assistant editor for Banta the Jinx(2006) and DAVA(2006). After that, he edited and assisted for directing another short film My Ungraduate Loves(2007). The Couple is wrote and directed by him in 2013.
