Although he has only made seven features in the space of 45 years, he has worked as an actor, screenwriter, musician, comics writer, author and director. He has been venerated by cult cinema enthusiasts for his works such as El Topo(1970), The Holy Mountain(1973) and Holy Blood(1989).
