Program Note
Richard and Holly are newly weds heading to the house of Richard’s ex Nina to meet his three children. Once there, Nina is nowhere to be seen and it seems that children are unfazed by their missing mom. Series of increasingly bizarre scenes and children’s hostility follow, causing Holly to seek missing Nina to reveal the horrid truth. A feature film debut by writer/director Sebastian Godwin, Homebound effectively mixes horror, thriller and dark mystery genres to create a unique, sinister family tale. Plot twists and turns ensue as we realize the mystery slowly unfolding, just as Holly does. Remote country setting also serves chills and thrills in this unexpected gem. (Jongsuk Thomas NAM)
