Program Note

A man shoots himself in the head, but the bullet only grazes his forehead, leaving a scar. Everyone he meets on the street bears the same scar. When he shoots someone else, that person is left with the same mark on their forehead. This depicts a world where everyone inflicts wounds on each other, blurring the lines between perpetrator and victim. The violence of a politically exploited divided nation is portrayed through stark, cold imagery. (Martin LEE)
