Program Note

Male seahorses are known to carry and incubate eggs in their pouches, a biological phenomenon that parallels the lives of those who, despite being born biologically female, choose to live as men. When these individuals stop hormone therapy to become pregnant, they face criticism from within the transgender community for abandoning their gender transition. This short documentary, featuring transgender parents who make choices similar to that of the seahorse, highlights true courage and the meaning of family. (Kristin JI)
