Program Note

A girl, who helps her fisherman father and misses her vanished sister, is preparing to participate in a music festival. Suddenly, cows start appearing along the coast and in the city, and rumors spread that missing teenagers have turned into cows. This short, borrowing its title from a Brazilian folk legend, uses the metaphor of cows to represent the youth who fell into a sense of powerlessness after the pandemic. It reflects on a society that seeks to control them rather than understand them. (Kristin JI)
