Program Note
Grégoire is a building superintendent who takes care of his ailing foster mother. Every night, he transforms into a strange insect-like creature. He takes notice of a mother and daughter who have fled from the abusive husband. This short, which is a loose adaptation of Franz Kafka's short story The Metamorphosis, stylishly portrays the protagonist's repressed inner self, showing how he is treated as just another cog in the machine by everyone around him.
