Synopsis
High school student Jungo is furious. His immature mom from the Philippines troubles him, and his partner, Yusuke, who’s from a wealthy and understanding family, asks for a cooling-off period; he cannot see a stable future together. To make things worse, his mother brings a mysterious vagrant home declaring she will marry him. Jungo decides he’s had enough and sets off to find his father, who has only existed as the source of the boy’s child support account. You might be anticipating Korean movie like Punch (2011), but you’ll soon enjoy some unexpected fun. Of course, Jungo, the title role, is a powerful character, but British-Filipino actress Gow, plays troublemaker, Reina, so well that you can’t help but agree her acting stands out. The director, deals with the issue of a minority group from an LGBTQ perspective, made a coming-of-age movie of fun and warmth away from the mainstream. (HONG Sanghyun)
