Synopsis

Cristina, a young apprentice nun, sneaks out of the convent due for something urgent. During the uneasy journey, her undisclosed problem isn’t easily resolved, and she dies unexpectedly on the way back to the convent. Detective Marius investigates the terrible event by retracing her journey. Could the ending, in which troubled Cristina and determined Marius meet at the end of their own journey, be regarded as a miracle for them? Miracle is the second film of a trilogy by Romanian director Bogdan George Apetri, and the exceptional psychological descriptions and outstanding directing stand out. With a fascinating plot, the film frankly illustrates the reality of Romania throughout. Watching this film after the first part of the trilogy, Unidentified (2020), doubles the charm of the director and the trilogy as a whole. (Martin LEE)
