Synopsis
A small island with a dwindling population is filled with hope, as Keita’s black figs gain popularity. The government promises a grant, but this peace does not last long as serial killer, Komisaka, threatens Keita’s family. While his old pal Jun, rookie cop Moriya and Keita try to stop Komisaka, they accidently kill him. Having managed to cover it up, more officers arrive, and things take an unexpected turn. This neo-sensual suspense film shows off the talent of Hiroki Ryuichi, the master of heart racing movies, along with Miki Takahiro with Your Eyes Tell (2020) through a more sensual approach than a search for evil as a depiction of violent crime. The seemingly black comedy of a common clichéd twist does not stop until it has the audience sitting tight anticipating for the next scene. The chemistry of the long-awaited appearance of Fujiwara Tatsuya and Matsuyama Kenichi from Death Note adds yet more excitement. (HONG Sanghyun)
