The Cars That Ate Paris

Synopsis

A quaint peaceful country town calles paris is not what it truly seems. Once George and Arthur Waldo enter this deceiving little town, they confront some suhospitable townsfolk. Paris lives off innocent motorists who decide to make quick stops into their town. Once these motorists enter Paris's death trap, the people of Paris kill the travelers, steal their luggage, and rip the cars to all its parts which will be sold later at local stores. The same happens to George and Arthur, but Arthur is spared. At first he despised Paris, but he slowly adapts to its rottenness and criminal cativities because it gives him a sense of community and a family which he never had before. Later, Arthur leads a deadly scheme to take over the town through a very peculiar tactic.

Peter weir was born in Sydney, Australia in 1944. He first made underground films and worked in theater as an actor, director, and writer. He has been working as a filmmaker since 1967, and made his first teature film named HOMESDALE in 1970. In 1973 Peter Weir directed his second feature THE CARS THAT ATE PARIS which received international acclaim at Cannes Film Festival in 1974. PICNICAT HANGING ROCK is his third feature, and the most successful Australian film. The LAST WAVE is forth feature.
