Synopsis
Whereas HE’S A WOMAN, SHE’S MAN was a movie about the fantasies of love, this sequel is about the reality of love. Director Patter tries to show how the yearning of two people in love matures in a marriage. The main character Sam, who grew up in a patriarchal family where men dominated woman, is persuaded to change his views when men dominated woman, is persuaded to change his views when he meets Ziying, a female singer dressed like a man. As the story develops, Sam and Ziying fall innocently in love, and they both decide to live in Sam’s home. However, little did Sam know that his lover will turn into a rising star. Ziying’s popularity as male singer elevates after she wins male singer of the year in a music contest. They brings complications to Sam’s life because everyong thinks he Ziying’s gay boyfriends, a felling Sam is not used to after being raised by a male-dominated family. To make things more complicated, another singer intervenes in their lives. WHO’S THE MAN? WHO’S THE WOMAN? Becomes a love triangle where both Sam and Ziying realize that love is not the same.
As in the movies, and at times, it can be a real burden. Peter Chan incorporates the simplest things in everyday life and changes it to a complex film.(Production Note)
