Synopsis

“KITCHEN” is a Hong Kong film based on a Japanese novel by Banana Yoshimoto. A hairdresser named Louie lives with his father after his mother’s death. But his father woman after a sex change, and takes over the family’s roles as the mother. Louie meets a young beautiful woman named Auggie at her grandmother’s funeral. Auggie is left with no family, and suffers from grief and loneliness.
Louie and Auggie become friends in the beginning, but later their feelings for each other grow stronger as misfortunes strike Louie’s life.
“Kitchin” is a film that beautifully captures the romance between two lovers who support each other through life’s worst tragedies.

Diretor

YIM Ho

Studied filmmaking at the London International Film School. He spended three years with Hong Kong Broadcasting Ltd. As a scripwriter and producer-director. He directed HOMECOMING, RED DUST AND THE DAY THE SUN TURNED COLD that won The Best Picture and Best Director Award at 1994 Tokyo International Film Festival.
