The Mole and the Fairy

Grojo

Synopsis

A short story, whether it be a fiction or a film, has to offer the audience the pleasure of relishing a condensed text. However, this film is not like that. Rather, it is a two-dimensional story that is lacking in outstanding developments and sudden turnabouts. It is a simple story that relies absolutely on the surface and its simplicity creates a mysterious atmosphere that is accentuated by the fantastic visual and the dreamy trip hop sound. There is a man who can fly in the air like a fish in the sea. Through a window on the high wall of his room, he sees a woman. The attractive woman in red goes down the road, carrying a bowl with a goldfish in it. The man wants to seduce her. He invites her to a meal at his home. Then what happens? A mole, once it comes out from underground, is like a blind man. Can this fact be a clue? The key actor, Juan Marquez, used to be a stage actor. He has appeared in many Spanish films, including those directed by Pedro Almodovar. The heroine Venessa Lorenzo is one of Spanish top models. She has appeared in the covers of Elle, Marie Clere and Vogue. (HONG Sung-Nam)
